Kilmarnock defender Stuart Findlay targeted by Sheffield Wednesday in £1m move

Stuart Findlay is a target for English Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, reports suggest, with the Owls willing to pay up to £1m for the Kilmarnock defender.

The centre-back is a Celtic youth product, and joined Killie permanently in the summer after two previous loan spells.

Findlay has become a crucial part of Steve Clarke’s backline, and was impressive in the win over St Mirren on Monday night, making two crucial blocks as the visitors secured a 1-0 win.

Now the Scottish Daily Mail (print edition) is reporting that Sheffield Wednesday will send a scout to Ibrox tomorrow, as they consider a £1m bid.

Steve Bruce is the manager at Hillsborough, and his son Alex signed for Kilmarnock in January.

Findlay has two years to run on his current contract, and would join a Scottish diaspora in Yorkshire which includes Barry Bannan, Steven Fletcher and recent national team call-up Liam Palmer.

The Killie defender has never been involved with the Scotland senior team, but he won 13 caps for the Under-21 side.
